Ed Mauro
Ed Mauro is a highly motivated and competitive leader with extensive coaching experience at elite levels of women’s and youth hockey. Known for building trust-based, psychologically safe team environments, he combines strong communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills to maximize performance and achieve goals. As head coach of RHA Winnipeg U18 Female team and former head coach of the Barrie Jr. Sharks in the Provincial Women’s Hockey League, Ed has guided teams to record-setting success, playoff appearances, and scholarship opportunities for graduating players. His leadership extends beyond the rink, serving as chairperson for Georgian College’s Recreation, Leisure Services, and Sports Administration Program Advisory Committee.
Dedicated to continuous growth and innovation, Ed is completing his MBA while holding certifications as a High-Performance Coach, OWHA Coach Evaluator, and Level 3 On-Ice Official. He has presented and participated in numerous coaching conferences, including the NHLCA and American Hockey Coaches Association. Among his notable achievements are leading RHA Winnipeg to its best record to date, creating a female player scholarship fund, and pioneering media exposure with the first Jr. Female team broadcast on cable TV. A creative, forward-thinking, heartfelt coach with a winning attitude, Ed consistently develops athletes both on and off the ice while advancing the game of hockey at all levels.
